The Alpha1 Children&#039;s and Youth Day 2016 took place from November 18th to 20th in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n<p>We had a program with exciting presentations:<\/p>\n<h3>Dr. R\u00fcdiger Kardorff, gastroenterologist at Marienhospital Wesel<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency in children and adolescents \u2013 an overview from a pediatric perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hardly anyone conveys the basic knowledge about AAT deficiency to newcomers and old hands in such a clear and understandable way.<\/p>\n<h3>Professor Bruno Christ, Head of Cell Transplantation &amp; Molecular Hepatology at Leipzig University Hospital<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alpha1 and the liver \u2013 deeper insights and possible outlooks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His particular interest lies in the field of liver research; he will present possible therapeutic approaches for AAT deficiency.<\/p>\n<h3>Ms. Andrea Meiners, certified psychologist at Marienhospital Wesel<\/h3>\n<p><strong>No one is sick alone \u2013 What makes our Alpha-1 family strong<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The focus will be on the many questions that arise when dealing with a genetic defect within a family, on anxieties and doubts, but above all on possible solutions and helpful tips.<\/p>\n<p>After the presentations, there was plenty of time for questions and discussions with the speakers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Alpha1 Children&#039;s and Youth Day 2016 in D\u00fcsseldorf.
