The two events aimed to bring together patients and scientists from around the world to discuss developments in research, clinical care, and patient support.<\/p>\n<p>The research conference brought together 32 leading scientists and physicians specializing in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Key topics included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>News from the field of stem cell therapy<\/li>\n<li>The role of macrophages in gene delivery<\/li>\n<li>Treatment of lung and liver diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The patient congress brought together patients, scientists, clinicians, and industry partners from 34 countries.
