Within the DEG, an Alpha1 self-help group formed, and gradually, with support from the Alpha1 meetings in Essen, it became an independent Alpha1 association in 2001. At that time, I was the group leader in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p>And now we&#039;re already looking back on 20 years of Alpha1 Germany \u2013 incredible!<\/p>\n<p>In the folder, I also found a note that my doctor gave me back in 1999 when I was diagnosed \u2013 at least some kind of explanation was given. I&#039;ve copied the page for you (see right).
