As announced in the last newsletter, we would like to take you into the exciting world of research \u2013 towards possible future therapies and the hope that arises from them.<\/p>\n

Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is the focus of numerous studies, and we will be reporting on some of them in the coming weeks. (See page...) clinicaltrials.gov<\/a> There are currently 132 studies on this topic. Filtering the results to show studies that are recruiting or about to recruit, and those that are already underway (recruitment complete), still leaves 31 relevant research projects. We will not be able to report on all of them.<\/p>\n

We'll start with the Takeda study, followed by Wave, Intellia, and many more, including an article on the potential use of biologics. Our newsletters explore innovative therapeutic approaches such as DNA editing, gene addition, RNA editing, and more. Unfamiliar with these terms? Excellent: Together for a better quality of life!<\/span><\/h2>\n

We'll stay on the topic of the future, because what we're training today is the building block for a longer life with much more quality of life!<\/p>\n

We are all the more delighted that our "Fit in Body and Mind" project has received an award! With third place in the funding competition of the pharmaceutical companies' fund and a grant of \u20ac3,000, we can continue to offer and secure our online lung exercise and memory training sessions. The award ceremony on November 4th was a particularly moving moment.<\/p>\n
