Crossing borders: How the Alpha-1 Europe Alliance creates a common voice in Europe

„"Together we are stronger" is an important motto of those active in patient self-help groups, referring to the pooling of resources within their own association, but also in cooperation with other organizations. Consequently, Alpha1 Germany is active in many higher-level bodies, including at the European level. It is therefore no surprise that Alpha1 Germany supported the idea of a merger of European Alpha1 associations early on, and was subsequently one of the driving forces that purposefully promoted the establishment of an umbrella organization.

The „Alpha-1 Europe Alliance“, based in Brussels, has been in existence since October 17, 2023.
