While alpha-1 antitrypsin is thankfully available in sufficient quantities for the German market (we have confirmation), current supply difficulties are limiting treatment options for substitution therapy. on the one hand, and the soon-to-be-discontinued home therapy on the other. Limited. This is a setback for us Alphas, and it worries us, especially given the rising number of COVID-19 cases. We are actively discussing this with those responsible and working together to find solutions. To better assess the current situation we patients are in, we have developed this very short survey together with the Alpha1 advisory boards and Alpha1 centers. Your responses will provide a more accurate picture of whether the supply shortage and the current pandemic situation are affecting your doctor visit behavior. This, in turn, gives us arguments to continue advocating strongly for home therapy and self-therapy at home; we want the best possible and individualized treatment!
