News from the Münster Self-Help Group

In November 2017, after many years of successful service to the Münster Self-Help Group, Ingrid Lange stepped down from her position as group leader. We all, especially the group members, know how much she dedicated herself to the group. We are deeply grateful for the long and excellent work she did for "her" group.
She had been responsible for the group for ten years, during which time, in addition to the routine of a self-help group, she constantly came up with new ideas which she implemented. These included the quarterly meetings in Ladbergen, the group leader meetings at various locations, and the annual Alpha1 information days preceded by a general meeting. She also participated in specialist conferences, such as the information days at the Ruhrland Clinic in Essen. She started the tradition of inviting the group to brunch or barbecues. After she initiated this, everyone in the group also extended invitations. The group was also present at the opening of their new house in Körbecke. She sent very personal birthday and New Year's greetings to everyone in the group. She successfully applied for grant funding from health insurance companies.
She publicized Alpha-1 and the group to the local press so that articles could appear in the next issue. She regularly invited guest speakers to the group meetings, such as pulmonologists, a lawyer specializing in social and family law, and even Mr. Schneider from Hustifix once attended. He's well-known in the Alpha community. The additional excursions to places like Bad Sassendorf (salt cave and museum), Hanover (GOP event), and Papenburg (state garden show) were especially popular.
The listing of all these events makes it clear how tirelessly Ingrid worked for the Alpha cause. Her commitment was infectious and spread throughout the group.
Thank you, Ingrid. All the best and stay loyal to us Alphas. Your knowledge will surely be needed again from time to time.
