Study for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Patients – Who is interested in participating?
A study at the Schön Clinic in Berchtesgadener Land focuses on the Optimization of training therapy for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) patients.
In a previous study, we demonstrated that AATD patients were able to improve their physical performance to a clinically relevant extent after intensive, multimodal, 3-week pulmonary rehabilitation. However, compared to COPD patients without AATD, AATD patients showed no improvement despite comparable training. significantly lower increase in performance This development was also reflected in the adaptation of the muscles: fatigue-resistant type I muscle fibers showed good adaptation to training in COPD, but not in AATD.
