Alpha-1 Liver Team Aachen

Dear Alphas,

Many of you are already registered in the Aachen Alpha-1 Liver Study. As you know, 20-351 TP3T of all individuals with zoster 1 diabetes develop liver scarring over the course of their lives, and the Aachen Liver Study is investigating this issue. Since the study was launched in 2015, several years have passed, during which much progress has been made. For example, the first drug that appears to be effective against liver involvement in zoster 1 diabetes is now available.

Thanks to you and the tremendous commitment of Alpha-1-Deutschland e.V., we have already been able to gather a great deal of information. However, we still don't know how quickly ZZ-associated liver disease progresses and how this progression can be predicted. To find out, we need your help. Through a telephone interview, we would like to learn whether any new cases have developed in the meantime and how existing cases have progressed. For this purpose, we will contact all ZZ patients who have been enrolled in the study by Aachen University Hospital since 2015. We would like to interview you using a standardized questionnaire for 10 to a maximum of 20 minutes. The study will begin in mid-February, and we hope that the insights gained will allow us to provide you with clear prognoses.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support and look forward to getting in touch with you!
