European Reference Networks (ERN)
What are ERNs? “European Reference Networks (ERNs) are virtual networks of healthcare providers across Europe. Their aim is to address complex or rare diseases or health problems that require highly specialized treatment and the pooling of knowledge and resources. ERN coordinators convene a virtual advisory board of specialists from various fields to review a patient's diagnosis and treatment. They utilize a dedicated IT platform and telemedicine tools.
