On June 12, 2021, the time had come; we from the SHG Saxony & Saxony-Anhalt dared to meet again for the first time.
In November 2019, it was the last time before the Covid-19 virus derailed all our plans.
That was in Zwickau, at the Horch Museum, do you remember it? It was far too long ago, but now, yes, it's finally starting.
Most of the members who attended our meeting on June 12, 2021, had already received their second vaccination. Of course, they also had to wear masks when we moved through the buildings and used the dining area. The owners did a fantastic job organizing everything. We had the entire indoor area to ourselves during lunch and coffee. All other visitors were asked to use the outdoor area.
Of course, we also took some time to walk through the model railway and experienced a miniature world tour in 1:25 scale. The models are lovingly and skillfully handcrafted to precisely this scale. Every single roof shingle is individually placed on the roofs. What a feat of work!.
The small models, trains, and airplanes are the size of garden railways, i.e., 1:32. Therefore, they are slightly larger than the buildings in proportion. But this isn't noticeable!
We were able to see many models from Australia and America, Europe and Asia. Each one was very well described, and the weather held up. Although it was humid and very warm, everyone who was there went on the tour of the facility. That was great; I'm really proud of our group.
We're already looking forward to seeing you again in September, of course in Kassel... You'll all be there too!
Best regards
Udo from Leipzig
