I learned about the emergency folder from a member of my husband's support group. I was already familiar with the emergency information capsule. So why also an emergency folder? Intrigued, I called the manufacturer and had one sent to me.
The questions were quickly answered by opening the folder with its striking red color and reading the table of contents. A total of 54 pages with numerous helpful tips are located behind 12 index tabs, of which I will list only the most important ones below:
Will & funeral arrangements, power of attorney, living will, bank account power of attorney, contact details of relatives, contracts & subscriptions & memberships, professional matters & pension.
Some people might hesitate to create an emergency folder because it contains many sections and requires a fair amount of work. However, the instructions guide you very well through the topics. It's recommended to start with the most important information and then gradually add to it.
They provide themselves and their relatives or authorized representatives with a guide and a comprehensive source of information for emergency situations, thus saving themselves a great deal of stress. Furthermore, your personal wishes can be better taken into account.
