Heinz Dohmen, Group Leader SHG Münsterland
Our hope was that 2021 would be better than 2020.
As I said, hopes were high, but as we all know, everything turned out to be more protracted.
The positive aspect was that the promised vaccine was developed and approved.
Despite initial difficulties, the large-scale vaccination campaign began in the vaccination centers and subsequently even at the general practitioners' offices.
As more and more Covid variants were detected
SARS-CoV-2, Alpha (B.1.1.7)), Delta (B.1.617.2)), Omicron – November 2021 – (B.1.1.529),
A booster vaccination (3rd vaccination) was even recommended.
Despite everything, we were able to organize a group meeting in September at the "Gasthaus an de Miälkwellen" in Ladbergen. The meeting again took place in accordance with the applicable Corona regulations.
Although only a small group gathered, the joy among the group members present was great. We were also pleased to welcome a new member to the meeting.
Current topics were also discussed at this meeting.
One topic was the ongoing pandemic. We're all curious to see where it leads. (2022?)
Furthermore, the problem of oxygen supply was discussed at length. The problems that can arise with some suppliers alone were discussed extensively.
We hope that, if possible, we will be able to get a field service representative from an oxygen supplier for this purpose in 2022.
A meal was also a must. And as always, we were pampered at our restaurant.
We ended the group meeting after about 3 ½ hours.
Hopefully, we will be able to hold our group meetings regularly in Ladbergen again in 2022.
As the saying goes – never give up hope!
You can find out about dates for group meetings in 2022 via the Alpha1-Germany homepage or from us.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. into the New Year 2022.
Warm greetings from Münsterland
Birgit and Heinz
