Hereditary diseases are those inherited when there is a change in the genetic material that, when passed on to offspring, leads to the onset of a disease. It's easy to imagine that a delayed diagnosis carries many risks.

More than 80 percent of rare diseases, such as alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, are caused by a genetic mutation. Due to their rarity, diagnosis often takes a long time and requires multiple doctor visits. For this reason, appropriate therapy often only becomes effective once the disease has progressed and organs have been damaged.
Mediaplanet publishing house aims to combat this injustice with a special supplement in a national daily newspaper and online. The campaign “Our Genes – Hereditary Diseases” launches on December 14, 2015. We are participating, and our story is being featured. And of course, we will continue to report on it…
