On September 24, 2022, the Ballenstedt Lung Clinic held another open day on German Lung Day.
We had an information booth. We were able to set up our booth from 8:00 a.m. onwards. This is easiest for me to manage if I arrive the day before.
So Anke and I drove to Ballenstedt on Friday the 23rd and stayed overnight. We used the day to explore Ballenstedt a bit. This led to a walk to Ballenstedt Castle Park, where the castle theater is located. Our walk through the park added up to 10 km. So we certainly got some exercise on Friday.

There were fewer attendees than in previous years. This may have been because we were indoors, and with the bright sunshine, people preferred to sit outside enjoying music, bratwurst, coffee, and cake. There was also plenty for children to do, such as a bouncy castle and crafts. The Ballenstedt volunteer fire department was also present with a ladder truck. The ASB (Workers' Samaritan Federation) "Wishes on Wheels" ambulance from Magdeburg was also there.
We are already looking forward to the open house in 2023, where we hope to contribute again. Information booths like ours provide an informative and engaging experience.
