On June 30, 2018, CSL Behring hosted a fantastic information event in Nuremberg for patients and their families from all over Franconia. Many interesting presentations were given, beginning with a detailed explanation of lung function testing by M. Urlbauer.

Following this, S. Schuhmann gave an explanation of plasma donation and why it is so important. The accompanying illnesses of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and COPD were then explained again by M. Urlbauer, and many interesting conversations took place during the subsequent lunch.

After the lunch break, the topic was: "Drug therapies for COPD and AATD: What's new?" Speaker: J. Böhm. A very successful and detailed presentation on the expectations of patients and relatives regarding an intensive care unit was given by A. Geise. Following a short coffee break, the approximately 47 attendees received information from T. Fink about pulmonary rehabilitation therapy for severe pulmonary emphysema.

A very important and interesting topic for my husband and me was "How do I deal with a chronically ill family member/partner?" presented by P. Köbler. Afterwards, all participants were able to discuss the many new insights and ask their own questions, which were answered in detail by the speakers.

Everyone agreed that the event was a complete success.
