The term „COPD exacerbations“ under scrutiny

The European Lung Foundation (ELF) and COPD Global have launched a survey to find out how people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) feel about the way doctors and nurses talk about their condition.
In this short video Two key figures involved in the survey – a scientist and a patient representative – explain why we need to rethink the term „COPD exacerbations“.
Who is eligible to participate?
We invite people diagnosed with COPD, as well as those caring for people with COPD, to participate in the survey.
The survey is available in 20 languages.
Please help us reach as many people as possible by sharing the survey link with anyone who might be interested in participating. Answering the questions will take approximately 5 minutes.
Who created the survey?
This survey was prepared by a group of patient representatives and medical professionals from the Lancet Commission on COPD, the European Lung Foundation and the organization COPD Global.
The feedback from participants in this survey will be published in 2021 in The Lancet, one of the leading medical journals.
