A word about finances – Issue 2/2019

Dear members,
Thank you so much for the continued increase in your willingness to donate, primarily from your ranks. Whether it was for a joyous occasion like a fundraising appeal for a silver wedding anniversary or for collections following a bereavement, donations for our association's work were very generous this year. Donations were also made, for example, as a thank you for the beautifully printed journal delivered to your mailbox twice a year, free of charge. We promise that you will continue to receive the journal in person, regardless of whether we decide to send it online to members who request it in the future.
We board members were also incredibly pleased that one member handled the entire mailing of this year's invitations to the information day, saving us a great deal of work. As if this action alone weren't enough support, they also contributed stamps and copy paper as a donation in kind!
A member couple took the opportunity of their failure to notify us of their changed bank details to make a generous donation to the association as "compensation for expenses".
These few examples show how diverse the occasions and ideas can be, and the next birthday or large family celebration is sure to come…

Our fundraising campaigns also include betterplace.org as well as smile.amazon They are increasingly bearing fruit. Please find out more about our projects and detailed instructions on our website at: https://www.alpha1-deutschland.org/spenden-und-foerdern. These two options are particularly well-suited for the upcoming Christmas season.
Christmas time is also donation time!
Anyone who orders their gifts via Amazon.Smile or who needs an additional and "meaningful" gift idea and donates to our project via betterplace.org actively supports our association's work.
The board frequently received warm and complimentary words for its voluntary work, often accompanied by a donation. We are very pleased about this and thank all donors again most sincerely. In this way, we are getting closer, step by step, to our shared goal of continuously achieving greater independence from pharmaceutical and industry funding.
By the way: we were able to build up a substantial reserve this year to finance our club's anniversary celebration in 2021. This will allow us to cover an additional overnight stay and other extra costs, ensuring that as many members as possible can participate in this special event. We hope you'll look forward to it!.
Thank you for your support and I wish you a reflective and peaceful Christmas season.
Warmest regards and stay healthy and well,
