Dear members,

You're now holding the second journal from 2015 and wondering what's new. And there's plenty new – nothing particularly groundbreaking, but lots of little impressions, ideas, and insights. I wish I could take you along on one of my trips or conferences, or that you could listen in on one of my many phone calls and conversations. Then you'd know that a journal can only ever offer a glimpse into the life of the association. Many of the Alphas' stories touched me this year: whether it was the struggle for a long-held dream or the fight for a "normal" everyday life.

But doctors who critically reprimanded their colleagues, telling them they should spend more time with patients and treat them more individually, also gave me pause for thought.
The group leader meeting in Erlangen showed us how much we can accomplish and what we can achieve when we all work together. Winter is often difficult for many of us and provides time for reflection. Use this period positively: Make plans for the coming year, think about what is important to you, and ensure that these things have enough space in your life.

Enjoy the beautiful things, the little things in life, the scent of a freshly peeled orange and of fir branches in the house, or the loud voices of children or grandchildren.

After a very demanding year, we on the board of Alpha1 Germany have developed into a strong team, and I hope you will again find something in this journal that you will find quite interesting.
We hope it touches you personally or helps you. We are especially proud to be able to present this children's book in this journal.

We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2016. Enjoy the peaceful season and, above all, stay healthy!
