The topic of "Law and Social Issues" is certainly a very dry one. But even dry topics can be important. After all, it concerns our patients' rights. In the jungle of regulations, legitimate financial support can very quickly be lost.

Despite repeated reminders and support from the board, only five of us were present. This is very unfortunate given the importance of the issue.

As always, AlphaCare had invited a highly competent speaker. She was not only technically impeccable, but also able to present even the dry material in an engaging way. We learned quite a bit. For example, membership in the VdK (Social Association of Germany) is very helpful. It's also important to file an appeal against questionable decisions. The motto is: Don't give up immediately. These were just two of the many relevant pieces of information.

Since there were very few of us, the speaker involved everyone present. Not only we, but also the employees from AlphaCare and Grifols were able to ask personal questions, the answers to which were interesting for everyone.

A wonderful buffet provided for everyone's physical well-being and formed the setting for further good conversations in a small group.

After 3.5 hours, a very informative and stimulating afternoon came to an end. All that remains is to thank a fantastic speaker and AlphaCare for the perfect organization.

One more small note: After having to cancel our group meeting due to numerous last-minute cancellations and the low turnout at the AlphaCare event, Barbara and I, as leaders of the Cologne group, are somewhat disappointed. We would appreciate any feedback, regardless of whether there is no longer any interest in events, whether the reluctance stems from the COVID-19 situation, or whether other formats for our meetings would lead to larger numbers of participants. We are also always open to criticism of our work.

Best wishes, stay healthy and hopefully see you soon!

Barbara and Bernd
