Not quite in the middle of 2021 yet, but full of good intentions to keep our self-help group running with our video conferences.
This time the virtual meeting took place via "Zoom Meeting" on February 18, 2021, and it went well, however the number of participants was not so good, which is a shame!
Our research led us to the realization that shortly before our scheduled meetings, including other virtual events, we should remind the relevant members and possibly offer assistance so that they can participate in the virtual meeting.
Well, despite everything, our meeting was a success, because there was plenty to talk about among those who participated.
- Information regarding the first virtual general meeting, including elections, on April 23, 2021, via Zoom. Group leader Mr. Hübner announced his candidacy for treasurer on the board. He is currently serving as acting treasurer.
- Another topic was our upcoming AlphaCare online regional day on March 5, 2021, with a presentation: Alpha1 and nutrition.
- Our focus as the Alpha 1 Berlin-Brandenburg self-help group is currently on ensuring a large turnout for the regional day. This event is being planned by AlphaCare, represented by Mr. Böhlefeld, and will be conducted with a nutritionist. To enable a large number of interested people to attend, our self-help group has agreed that AlphaCare members and patients from the Alpha1 Center can participate in the regional day. Invitations have been sent out.
- We were pleased to welcome a new Alpha1 member. During our conversation, several questions arose, which were discussed in a personal meeting. Ms. Netzel offered him individual support.
- Regarding the topic of shopping while simultaneously supporting Alpha 1 Germany, Mr. Hübner provided information about using "smile.amazon". Following this, the members of our group received more detailed information about this shopping method via email.
- In order to reach even more members in the future and to get a higher number of participants at the virtual self-help group meetings, a WhatsApp group was created.
